With Toronto’s fashion week around the corner, here at Toronto Fashionista we are prepping so we can deliver you guys the best coverage possible. With video interviews, runway photos and lots of other fun things in store; be sure to visit our site frequently throughout the week and after.
This season, World MasterCard Fashion week will bring us many new designers as well as some returning favourites.
Some new designers this season include winner of Project Runway Canada’s first season, Evan Biddell. In the past, Evan has presented his collection at FAT (Fashion Art Toronto) Alternative Fashion week or during intimate gatherings, such as last seasons Rise Condo party. We are very thrilled to see him join the roaster of great Canadian designers that grace World MasterCard Fashion Week.
Another new comer to World MasterCard Fashion Week is DeMOYO, while it is not her first time showing her collections on the runway, the designer/owner Paidemoyo Chideya is looking at World MasterCard Fashion Week as a major step in the Canadian fashion industry. Having frequented FAT Alternative Fashion week, we are sure she will hit it out of the park, shall we say.
The most anticipated show for us here at Toronto Fashionista is definitely Arthur Mendonca. We are still swooning over his fall/winter 2012 collection he presented last season. The impeccably tailored dresses paired with accessories that have become this falls staples such as the ever-so-awesome bowler hat. We cannot wait to see what he has in store for us this season.
Another runway we always look forward too is Korhani Home, the incoration of carpets and clothing always blows us away. Last year the models not only blew us away with the collection, but some came down the runway carrying miniature pigs. It’s always the type of runway we can’t stop talking about all week, especially when it includes cute piggies.
Some other returning designers we also, of course, look forward to seeing are:
We of course are excited for the whole week and seeing every designers collection. Hopefully some new designers will leave us wanting more and old designers will remind us what makes them so awesome.
Check back on Monday for our short designer bios on all the designers showcasing during Toronto’s World MasterCard Fashion Week.
