Sisters, Chloe and Parris have returned to World Master Card Fashion week on opening night and brought grunge with them. Their new 90’s inspired F/W line includes inspiration from the glamorous yet dark side of Marie Antoinette. The return of unwashed hair and layered tattered material isn’t new on the fashion scene where the disheveled look is making a comeback. However upon interviewing the duo backstage we found out how their designs differ from other 90’s tribute lines.
Earthy toned velvet, leather skirts and jackets clothed the slumped models. Outfits with mini skirts were complete with patterned thigh high stockings and creepers. A few of the looks were masculine including a two piece patterned pant suit with a high collar. Cut to hang and give no definite shape to the silhouette, the clothes draped the girls as a rebellious statement to conventional runway lines. Grunge has returned.
Our favourite looks included a patent leather mid-driff bearing crop top beneath a patent leather biker jacket with a matching mini-skirt and a simple cut blue velvet dress with a diagonal peek-a-boo slit across the chest. The matching studded blue leather cuff and choke necklace were fun additions too.
