The anticipated runway follow up to the leather dominated Spring/Summer line by Mackage in 2012 did not disappoint. The Canadian brand featured bright winter wear paired with leather or suede tights under leather shorts with fur shirts. Well styled, the outerwear pieces were displayed fashionably on the runway.
Last season one of our favourite pieces was an ombre leather jacket. The colouring style was used again, however in fur. Burgundy to black ombre fur coated a leather biker jacket detailed with silver buttons and a leather belt. Styled with a full leather outfit also in burgundy, the piece was enhanced by the sleek outfit.
A notable piece from the mens’ line was a simple double breasted wool coat in red to black ombre with black button details. The mix of the two bold colours isn’t a surprise for the line which is known for embracing trendy shades. A mix of material also included a black and white checkered coat with leather cuffs. The popular winter bomber also made an appearance. With fur rimmed hoods and in bold colours (including orange and navy blue) Canada Goose won’t be the only option in winter 2013.
The show also marked the debut of their new leather bag line. The snakeskin detailed purses and bags were mostly black with a mix of a colour (navy blue / black or pearl / navy blue).
After browsing through their 2012 Fall/Winter collection at Sporting Life, I definitely knew I would want to invest in a Mackage jacket towards the end of the year. However after seeing the show, it’s a guarantee that I will be purchasing a Mackage jacket.
The show was accompanied by a dark mix with heavy beats by Brendan Fallis. After looking everywhere for the mix, I finally found it posted on twitter by the owner of The Brunette Salad. Listen to the mix while going through our gallery below.
